Salvia tchihatcheffii ve Salvia cryptantha Uçucu Yağlarının ve Ekstraktlarının İki Önemli Depo Zararlısı Üzerindeki İnsektisidal Aktiviteleri

In this study, contact and fumigant toxicities of methanol extracts and essential oils of Salvia tchihatcheffii and S. cryptantha plants against two main storage pests Sitophilus granarius L. and S. oryzae L.were tested. Evaluation of the results showed that the highest activity was obtained from S. tchihatcheffii plant. Stem extract of this plant had an insecticidal activity of 87% on S. granarius while flower extracts had 69%. Dose dependent death effect determination studies of S. tchihatcheffii results in an LD50 value of 49,52 g/L and LD90 value of 106.55 g/L. The extracts of the other plants showed activities below average values. Finally, essential oil of the plants had no effect on neither pest species.
